How to Make Your Boss Happy with You: Leadership and Management Skills Article by Motivational Speaker, Trainer, and Author Taidin Suhaimin, Sabah, Malaysia

In business, the more customers buy from you, the greater your profits, and the more successful your business—and you—become. That's why customers are considered kings!

As an employee, your boss is your king. The better you are at making your boss happy and helping them look good, the more they will like you, and the more successful you will be in your job.

Here are 5 tips to keep your boss happy, help you shine, and ensure they’re pleased with your work.

Here are 5 tips to keep your boss happy with you, help you shine, and ensure they’re pleased with your work.

1. Avoid Arguing with Your Boss

Never, never, ever argue with your boss. In whatever situation, always be polite to your boss.

Remember again, your boss is your no. 1 customer. He or she is your king or queen!

Whenever you want to give ideas or suggestions to your boss, be extremely polite.

2. Know What Your Boss Expects Most from You

Identify your boss's top 3 to 4 values, i.e., what is important to him or her.

Ask your boss politely in what way you can be a great asset to him or her and the organization.

3. Bring Solutions to Your Boss

Once you know what your boss expects from you, find the best ways to deliver assistance or solutions to your boss's concerns.

By bringing solutions to your boss, your boss will see that you are a very valuable person to him or her in the organization, and hence you will become one of the most likable and exemplary employees in the organization.

4. Be Loyal to Your Boss

As a "king," it is only natural for you to be loyal to your boss. When you are loyal to your boss, your boss, in return, will become loyal to you too. This, in effect, makes your boss and yourself great friends!

Being friends means that you support the other person, not because you think you will get something back, but because you like seeing the other person happy and successful, as his or her happiness or success is your joy too.

Therefore, give your friend or your boss your honest loyalty. Take the time to look at the needs of your boss. Get yourself valuable for your boss. Be generous with your time and resources. "Fortune shines brightly on those who give out love and respect."

5. Keep Your Boss Looking Good

Everything mentioned above will help keep your boss looking good in the eyes of everyone.

When you consistently keep your boss looking good in the eyes of others, you'll also look good in your boss's eyes!

This alone will surely make your boss like, appreciate, and be happy with you!
